Paint Party Friday And Happy Halloween!!!

 What are you going to be for Halloween this year?  I haven't dressed up for Halloween for some time but it is my favorite holiday. We never get trick or treaters where we live 😞  This year we are lucky to be able to visit my nephews who are 5 and 3.  This year they are obsessed with superheroes.  Last year they were Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo.

As for me this year I am going to be a character from Pixar's Inside Out.   Hopefully Photos next week. 😉

As for painting or anything art related I have had much time to do much except the one box I have been asked to personalize. Every other day I am helping out my dad who has been in and out of hospitals this year.  He is a Covid survivor. He had it in April. His body has been pretty weak and he is still recovering.  My health is not great so on the days in between I tend to pass out all day.

Update and Paint Party Friday

 So I haven't painted much this year and I can't believe it is almost over.  I am working on a couple boxes 1 of them actually commissioned the other 2 just my wacky inspirations.  

I thought would share on commission. It is a work in progress... 

This is a box for a former marine. I decided to paint his portrait on the top of the box. Probably the smallest portrait I have ever done. Took me a couple tries to be happy with. 

The person who ordered the box wanted me to incorporated messages like "Thank you for your service!", "You're My Favorite Marine!" and "You'll Always be My Hero!"

So I had some little miniatures and decided to make them holding posters with the messages. 

I still have more to paint on the inside. I am going to paint the marine's flag inside the top. I then have to seal and gloss the top and bottom. Oh, add another miniature in the front.

I guess giraffe's are popular these days.  As I said last week giraffes was the theme for nibblefest art contest in November.  My love of New Age and psychics gave life to this piece.

The idea came from a picture I took of our little Sweetie(RIP).  We were folding laundry and to get our attention she hope on the book shelf where I had mostly stuff animals.  It really reminded of the scene with E.T. in the closet with the stuffed animal.

I have always had a attachment to the Romanov family history especially the youngest daughter of Nicholas and Alexandra, Anastasia.  She loved art, photography, being goofy, and her family. I just recently finished another book on their lives called The Secret Plot to Save The Tsar by Shay McNeal.  It was only meh but every week on my book blog I try to draw something that is connected to what I read.  Since I do this drawing on the computer usually I forget to post it here because I am still not use to to making art on a computer the same as using a non computer. :-/  I know i am strange.

Any way if you like this too I also added the image to a couple of things in my Zazzle Store for purchasing.

I decide to look to see who was trending on Yahoo.  The day I started it the top person was Adele.

I took Adele's picture and transformed her into Day Of The Dead Girl.  Do you see a resemblance? 

Paint Party Friday - 2 ATC from Spring

I found these two ATC's that I did around Easter they are probably the first ones I ever did.  I was playing around to see how acrylic paints looked on the paper.  Since it watercolor paper.  They look better I think here than in person because I see them as kinda sloppy.

1. This one is Easter.  I combined Jesus's cross with a bunny rabbit.

2. This is A Chick and Mom. Of course the two are awaiting a another chick in the cracked egg there.

Paint Party Friday 3 Painting - The Fairy Trap WIP

I call this The Fairy Trap.  It is oil on canvas and a work in progress.  I have clean it up a bit.  Can you see the fairies.  One is being digested.  Yeah I have to work on that.

I did this for a contest on EBSQ.  The Theme is Carnivorous Plants.  

I looked up pictures and saw one Venus fly trap with a fly or beetle and you could see the silhouette of the bug in the trap.  I thought what if fairies get caught by venus fly traps too.

Hello Paint Party People.  This my second time particapating.  I am bad at taking pictures although I keep trying  but my hands keep shaking.  

This painting is part of me or how I saw myself in a dream.  A girl with fiery red hair and gold jewelry(The Whore)  She is hanging upside down with the one leg bent (The Fool) Her heart is a oil lamp that feels empty but is not. (The Bride)

Most of the ideas come from the bible and the fool is from tarot cards.   In some why all those people felt like me when I started this.
